For the occasion De Warme Winkel retreats to a paradise island. With a group of 8 actors, the company grasps its opportunity to rehabilitate irony. They turn away from the critics and intellectuals who dismiss irony as an admission of artistic weakness. De Warme Winkel has made irony its trademark, a reputation they owe to their sharp, non-conformist productions. This time, irony is the explicit subject. On the island, they meet reality TV stars Lesley Versprille and Earl Daniël. With the Danish philosopher Kierkegaard under their arm (“A human life begins with irony”), De Warme Winkel ensures a veritable revival of irony. Or does a real life date with one of the seductresses smash holes in their conviction?
