After they were introduced during dedonderdagen #4 with their 2004 production 'as if (it was beautiful)', Kattrin Deufert and Thomas Plischke captured a spot in deSingel's regular dance programme. However, the creations of this intriguing artistic duo extend further than dance. Since 2001 they have been engaged in dance, video and spoken performance projects under the name 'frankfurter küche'. At the heart of these projects, including 'Directory 3', which is to be created at deSingel, lies the gender issue. This duo, who call themselves twin artistes, examines the place of the ego in an 'identical' relationship. According to them the couple is a construction that produces fiction. The aim of 'Directory 3' is to make a creative translation of this statement into choreography. To this end they are collaborating with the German composer Hubert Machnik and performers from Romania, Bulgaria and Estonia.
