Wolfskers
In part two of the triptych, 'Wolfskers' (2007), the spotlight is on the political leaders, but viewed from an unusual angle. The play, named after a highly toxic plant (deadly nightshade) follows Lenin, Hirohito and Hitler during the latter days of their power when they lose governmental control. Guy Cassiers was inspired by three films by the Russian film maker Sokurov. Each film is dedicated to one of these three twentieth-century political icons: 'Taurus' (Lenin), 'Moloch' (Hitler) and 'The Sun' (Hirohito).
