'Bezonken rood' is a multimedia performance for a single actor, Dirk Roofthooft. Jeroen Brouwers' moving story is autobiographical. He looks back at the time in the Second World War when, as a three-year-old boy, he was imprisoned in a Japanese camp on the island of Java.
