Hans van den Boom . Stella Den Haag
Het jaar van de Haas
With not a trace of cliche, Van den Boom packages a recognisable and serious subject: the nine-year-old Martha is struggling with her mother's absence. The only one who can comfort her is the hare that visits her every night. Bizarre apparitions in poetical writings and film images are accompanied with much humour by evergreens sung in superb part-song. Anyone who abandons themselves to what is taking place on stage can expect a delightful reward: you are fed information bite by bite until the whole puzzle fits together.
