"It’s all magnificent. Ten hours with Gosselin flies by a thousand times more quickly than two hours with many others."
Libération 8th of July 2018
Following on from ‘Les Particules élémentaires’, director Julien Gosselin has selected three novels by the American writer Don DeLillo. ‘Les Noms’ (The Names) begins with the loneliness of a businessman in 1970s Athens and moves towards a survey of the alphabet. ‘Joueurs’ (Players) describes how a couple’s boredom turns into violence, which is extended to the tension between radicalism and liberalism in 1980s America. Finally, ‘Mao II’ is a portrait of a writer who hides behind the terrorism in the Middle East in the 1990s. Julien Gosselin tells you an intimate tale about three decades of political violence. For eight hours. After the première the piece will also be staged at the Avignon Festival in July 2018. Your challenge at deSingel!
