"A mix of film footage, live interviews and crazy acts." de Volkskrant
The French playwright and director Mohamed El Khatib and his Collectif Zirlib present documentary theatre that is based on reality, curious to see what happens when separate worlds meet. His most recent creation is a homage to his father, a manual worker with a passion for football.
In ‘Stadium’, El Khatib brings together no fewer than 53 supporters of football club Racing Club de Lens around a chip kiosk… With a keen eye, he unravels the myths about the differences between football and theatre fans. The central question is this: apart from their outfits, is there a difference between a theatre and a football audience? Is the football stadium perhaps one of the few places in today’s world where people from all strata of society have a shared hope and passion? Come and find out in a theatre.
