TRY_OUT Tanin
ON_OFF_SPACE TRY_OUT
Welcome to the filming of the dance music video Tanin. In this filming, you are invited to play the part of an “extra.” As an extra, we have designed the experience to position you in the seat of dance, as it travels from a movie industry film studio, to the intimate private living room, to a fractured time in a displaced space. The video we film together will be sent to our homes, located in the future. In Tanin, we dance to show the future that the past is still dancing, we dance to keep dance alive, we dance to keep dance dancing.
Inspired from the memory of the 1980’s Persian dance diaspora, Tanin is an immersive and participatory dance performance by Nathaniel Moore and Hamed Dehqan. It uses collaborative and immersive forms to create a mnemonic landscape where diasporic gestures of transmission, intimacy, and dance are collectively practiced and reflected upon.
Tanin: (Persian) Ta-nin

ON_OFF_SPACE is a space at DE SINGEL where various art forms converge: dance, music, spoken word, performance, and installation art. It provides a platform for emerging initiatives and artists in development to create and explore.
