Vijand van het Volk
A doctor discovers that the water in his city’s health spa is heavily polluted and is making visitors mortally ill. In the interests of public health, he wants to publish his findings. He turns to local politicians to take action. But his brother - who is also the mayor - has his reservations. Making the news public would have complex economic consequences for the city. What’s more, it would lead to ordinary people having to stump up for the costs. This tart comedy has highly topical echoes of environmental scandals close to home. It mercilessly shows the manipulation machinery behind the scenes of policymaking, and the conspiring that goes on in the corridors. True to tradition, Olympique Dramatique assembles a rock-solid cast of performers with an eye for new talent.
