A young collective welcomes you to an unusual salon. Maud Vanhauwaert, Freek Vielen and Rebekka de Wit met at Antwerp Conservatoire while studying Wordcraft. This trio writes, reflects, acts and reports in the course of their salons, which go under the name of 'Opkras Kuiten'. Each 'Opkras kuit' is different and broaches a new topic. The name itself is an anagram of 'Iktsuarpok', which is an Inuit word meaning something like 'go outside to see if anyone is coming'. This open and inquisitive attitude undoubtedly provides the foundations for each 'Opkras Kuit'. For their appearance at deSingel these young thinker-performers will take the current crisis as their starting point. May this crisis signal the start of something new, for all of us, and thus for theatre too? Shouldn't we celebrate the crisis? In this 'Opkras Kuit', investigation and humour, seriousness and fantasy go hand in hand.
Let these creative young people surprise you. Their refreshing approach will definitely not leave you unmoved.
Food and drink are part of the 'OpkrasKuit' concept and are included in the ticket price.
