How could anyone - in a time when we are renouncing the 'big story'- dare to tell the mystical tale of the irresistible heartbreaker who loves hundreds of women? Is sexuality really per se a battlefield? For Ricardo Bartis the story is situated in the heart of the irrational, the basic instinct. 'Donde más duele' tells a seemingly simple story: three sisters and an sick old man sit locked up in an old house and keep repeating the same scenes in the belief that their repetitions contain a deeper meaning. Desperately they try to stake out their own terrain. As always with Bartis, the story is just an opportunity to give other powers a chance. His extremely intricate theatre develops poetry of words and images, often rising from the subconscious, which forever will cast their spell on us.
