Romeo Castellucci's dramatically expressive theatre is highly evocative. Metamorphosis, one of the most essential components of the Greek tragedy, is a dominant element in his oeuvre. His theatrical cycle 'Tragedia Endogonidia', an allusion to 'the infinity of the end', is intended as a commemoration of tragedy. Its eleven episodes are identified by a serial number and are named after the city where they were created. Episode 'B. # 03 Berlin' features a nameless woman whose face remains hidden from view throughout. The action is set in a white and hazy dream world that has lost all connection with reality. Twenty years ago, Romeo Castellucci already said that what he does is tell parables, symbolic stories that illustrate moral issues. It is not surprising therefore that a series of archetypal figures recurs throughout his work: the Mother, the Prophet (Elijah), the Army, the Law Enforcement Officer. Theatre as a system of metaphors. Astonishing.
