'P.#06 Paris', the sixth episode in Castellucci's eleven-part theatre cycle 'Tragedia Endogonidia', is at last coming to deSingel, and to the Red Hall. This episode sees the entry of characters from history and mythology. The formation of the human community, the birth of urban organisation and military politics are dealt with. All this is viewed from the point of view of several worldviews and cultures: the Greek, Chinese and Old Testament Judaic. Jesus, and with him the notion of resurrection, also make an appearance. Some of the images can be explained on the basis of the director's fiercely professed Catholicism and his thorough knowledge of art history. Others remain a mystery, but do not lack emotional impact. This is theatre as a system of metaphors and as a silent primal scream, scriptless, wordless. This is exactly how Castellucci leaves the viewer at the end of the performance.
