Comédie (Beckett) - Wry smile Dry sob (Costa): a theatrical music/musical theatre diptych.

In her work, the Italian director Silvia Costa combines theatre, music, choreography and visual art. For this new project, she dives into the world of Samuel Beckett. The evening is divided into two parts. In the first she presents ‘Comédie’, the one-act play Beckett wrote in 1963 about a love triangle between a man and two women whose heads stick out of three urns. All three are no longer alive, but even death has brought no end to their unhappiness. They are forever imprisoned in an emotional web. In part two, Costa translates this into a wordless musical theatre piece for which she wrote the scenario herself. The Italian composer Nicola Ratti composed a sensual soundtrack for this diptych. A slow-motion thriller about love, deceit and jealousy.
