The Wooster Group brengt het New Yorks feminisme uit de seventies weer tot leven copywriter
Een eyeopener! copywriter
This time The Wooster Group delves into revolutionary feminist ideas. 30th April 1971. At the Town Hall Theatre in New York City, intellectuals and feminists attend a debate on 'Women's Liberation'. The discussion is led by Norman Mailer, considered by many women to be a male chauvinist. Who are the speakers? Germaine Greer, Mailer's most fervent adversary, Jacqueline Ceballos, president of the New York chapter of the National Organization of Women (NOW), the legendary literary critic Diana Trilling, and Jill Johnston, journalist and spokesperson for lesbianism. She creates subversion with a great deal of humour, finally leaves the room and writes an article about it later on. In 'The Town Hall Affair', the Wooster Group's focus is mainly on her.
