Thorsten Lensing and his brilliant actors enthralled us for four hours in November 2017 with the theatre performance ‘Karamasov’. Now they are returning with the stage adaptation of ‘Unendlicher Spaß’ (Infinite Jest), the long novel by the American writer David Foster Wallace.
The story focuses on three brothers. Hal is a dictionary aficionado and brilliant pupil at the Enfield Tennis Academy. His brother Orin is a punter for an American football team. The disabled Mario is a keen radio listener and film-maker. Just like a whole host of other figures, they are constantly anxious and powerless in the face of life. Wallace – and also Lensing – portrays his tragicomic figures in way that is both serious and light-footed. The German press was ecstatic about this production.
