Wayn Traub - Het Toneelhuis

The 'Wayn Wash' trilogy focuses on the chief iconic figures in the life of Christ: the Virgin Mary, John the Baptist and Mary Magdalene. After 'Maria-Dolores', this second play introduces a 'chansonnier', Jean-Baptiste. Once again, the performer and multimedia artist Wayn Traub presents parallel stories, on stage and on tape, that intersect and mingle with each other. According to his principle of the opera-cinema, sung and spoken scenes are alternated with film images. In this second part, Wayn Traub imperturbably continues his search for a theatrical idiom of his own and treats us to a flamboyant production full of ritualistic and spiritual elements.
