The genius theatrical film The Making of Berlin overwhelms from start to finish. De Standaard
The Making of Berlin is the final piece in the Holoceencyclus, in which the company created a series of city portraits over the past twenty years. This final work focuses on the exceptional story of Friedrich Mohr, a Berliner who worked for the Berliner Philharmoniker during WWII. A man with an unfulfilled dream that BERLIN is still trying to realise. With the help of Chantal Pattyn and radio station Klara, the orchestra of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and actor Martin Wuttke, among others, the company orchestrates a technical tour de force with Wagner's Götterdammerung in the starring role. Gradually you discover together with BERLIN that Mohr's story is full of inaccuracies, putting the project in jeopardy.
The Making of Berlin is a poignant account of the power of stories and exciting documentary theatre that is characteristic of BERLIN’s unique approach.
