De Nachten festivals have been going on for 12 years now. This is the age when, not only in real life, but also for De Nachten, it is time to start on a shamelessly boisterous puberty. With lots of new projects, fireworks of literary erotica, heated discussions, young talent and old pros. As well as music and literature there will be an extensive film and video section and for the first time a games area. Note the passwords you'll need to get in: Lost Love & Lust, Ex Drummer, Remco Campaert and Daan. Writing a good erotic scene is the acid test for every writer. At De Nachten you will hear climax after climax in Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer's historical section, in the performances by La Fille d'O and in a lot of new pieces of writing inspired by the drawings of Peter van Straaten. Remco Campaert is what people call a 'household name': almost eighty and still going strong, lively and intelligent. This will be made absolutely clear to you in the superb film portrait by GDMW, our sister festival in Rotterdam, and in a live performance.
