De Nachten 2005 - De Dunne Komrij
The 'Dikke Komrij' is a source of plunder for poets and performers in the Low Countries. This nickname refers to Gerrit Komrij's impressive anthology of eight centuries of Dutch poetry. The master himself sets the metre. There will also be a presentation of the letter 'S' by Josse De Pauw and Michael Borremans, which was commissioned by Antwerp, World Book Capital 2004; and Antwerp's new civic poet, Ramsey Nasr, will be making his first public appearance. 'You will meet them all here: the Romantics, the romantic rebels, the clergy, the drawing-room poets, the symbolists, the decadents, the experimentalists, the disillusioned, and in amongst them always the eccentrics, the students, the Flemings and the prematurely broken.' (Gerrit Komrij)
