La Ribot

To make a hundred 'distinguished pieces' - that was the aim of the Spanish dancer and performer La Ribot. Each piece lasts between thirty seconds and seven minutes and, just like a work of visual art, is assigned to an owner. It may be a mobile poem, a game of ideas, a struggle with Tati and a chair, a tableau vivant that's for sale, a study of the possibilities of the body, and so on. In a vivid, disrupting, funny and voyeuristic way, the body is put up for show and for sale as the object of commercial marketing strategies and as the prison of impossible longings. This performance is part of Cluster #1. The performance of Thursday 18th December 2003 has been cancelled.
