The story of Peer Gynt evokes several worlds, whereby the imaginary and the contemporary reality merge into one another. Ibsen's play provides the opportunity to experiment with forms and spaces where human consciousness is to be found. In order to do full justice to the intensity of the play, its creators opted for a limited cast of two actors and a pianist. Video and sound effects enhance the experiment. The piece begins where Ibsen's play ends. In this piano adaptation from Grieg, word and music are closely interwoven. The romantic nature of the composition does not prevent it from being treated experimentally. This performance is part of Cluster #1.
