Paul Griffiths, Jef Neve & Musici deFilharmonie

A few years ago deFilharmonie successfully launched the 'Re-Mix Orchestra' initiative, an improvisation orchestra for youngsters between the ages of twelve and seventeen. The aim of 'Re-Mix' is to actively bring young people who make music into contact with the orchestra and stimulate their interest in classical music. Forty young people with diverse musical backgrounds will spend a few days developing an original composition before finally creating it on the concert stage. Paul Griffiths, who has also initiated workshops like this with the London Symphony Orchestra, will head the project once again. Six musicians from deFilharmonie will assist him. They will both play and coach. Special guest is none other than the jazz and improvising pianist Jef Neve. He will supervise two days of rehearsals.
