Rachel Redmond

Rachel Redmond wordt beschreven als een “indrukwekkend zijdezachte sopraan” (The Times) en als “stralend” (The New York Times). Ze begon haar carrière bij het prestigieuze Jardin des Voix, waar ze optrad met Les Arts Florissants onder leiding van William Christie en Paul Agnew in Frankrijk, Spanje en New York. Op uitnodiging van William Christie maakte ze haar debuut in de Opéra Comique als Iris in Lully’s Atys en zong ze Irene en Léontine in Robert Carsens productie van Les Fêtes Vénitiennes in de Opéra Comique, het Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse en de Brooklyn Academy of Music. Ze debuteerde ook in het Théâtre du Châtelet als Loena in La belle Hélène. Rachel Redmond werd geboren in Glasgow en zong in het Junior Chorus van de Royal Scottish National Orchestra voordat ze studeerde aan de Music School of Douglas Academy, het Royal Conservatoire of Scotland en de Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Ze ontving de Florence Veitch Iblerprijs voor oratoriumuitvoering aan het Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
