Xavier Le Roy
Xavier Le Roy (F, born 1963) is a choreographer who, before beginning as a dancer in 1988, studied biochemistry at the University of Montpellier. In 1990, he finished his thesis, moved to Paris and from 1993 lived in Berlin. In the same year, he began developing his own choreographic works. A year later, in 1994, he founded the group 'Le Kwatt'. Since 1996, he has been the artist in residence at the Podewil Tanzwerkstatt in Berlin. He has worked with, amongst others, fellow choreographers such as Meg Stuart, Jérôme Bel and Mathilde Monnier. His work, including 'Self Unfinished', ' Product of Circumstances', 'Xavier le Roy' and 'Theater der Wiederholungen', has been performed at the Wiener Festwochen, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Brussels, Steirischer Herbst, Graz and Opéra de Bastille, Paris. Since 2007, Xavier Le Roy has been affiliated with the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier.
