Bovenbouw works with a team of eighteen staff on a colourful oeuvre of highly diverse buildings.
Bovenbouw’s work is based on the tension between thinking and acting, between the present and the past, and between the exotic and the everyday.
In ‘The House of the Explorer’ the Antwerp-based architectural firm constructs a world full of concrete buildings and paper ideas.
In addition to being an architect, Bovenbouw’s founder Dirk Somers is also an essayist, a tutor at TU Delft and a professor at Ghent University. Bovenbouw has already exhibited work in Venice, Munich, Frankfurt, Ghent, Mendrisio and Antwerp.
