Christos Papadopoulos

Greek choreographer Christos Papadopoulos makes his debut at DE SINGEL. With a background in political science and contemporary dance, he has developed a distinctive signature where collectivity, rhythm, and subtle transformation converge. In My Fierce Ignorant Step, he takes ten dancers to a realm where poetry and movement intertwine.

The choreography begins with words and breath. What begins as quiet physical effort grows into audible breath, voice, and rhythm. A pulsating landscape emerges where movement generates sound and sound, in turn, inspires movement. 

Papadopoulos explores how a collective body can form on stage: ten performers breathing, moving, and resonating together. Their shared energy gradually builds into an ecstatic wave of movement that fills the stage with vitality and zest for life. What starts with small gestures evolves into a hypnotic choreography in which bodies, breath, and sound become a single living entity.
