1h Jan Fabre likes to draw inspiration from his 'warriors of beauty'. Over the years, this has been translated into a substantial series of solo projects, both dance solos and theatre monologues. Or a mix of both, as in all-round performer Tony Rizzi's recent solo. Despite their differences, Jan Fabre primarily intended all these solo performances to be an ode to the performer. Every piece begins with an intimate dialogue between the two 'partners in crime'. In addition, they are conceived as an artist's manifesto that sheds light on Jan Fabre's view of the world and of humanity, as well as questioning his artistry.
In the spring of 2014, Fabre will be creating a new dance solo, this time for Cédric Charron. For over ten years, this outstanding dancer/performer, a former P.A.R.T.S. student with Breton roots, has been a permanent fixture in Fabre's company Troubleyn and the Fabre Teaching Group. Their first collaboration was in 1999, with the creation of 'As long as the world needs a warrior's soul'. Subsequently, Cédric Charron has collaborated on many striking productions, like the opera 'Tannhäuser' and the large-stage productions 'Je suis sang', 'The Crying Body', 'L'Histoire des Larmes', 'Orgy of Tolerance' and 'Prometheus-Landscape II'.
