duration
1h 30' Although the work of Meg Stuart encompasses a variety of projects and joint ventures with others, it invariably displays her preference for investigating movement rather than dance, and in particular her interest in the relationship between movement and the arts. Meg Stuart sees choreography as a study of the human body, or as a statement about physical presence, meaning the opposite of an autonomous sequence of movements. Consequently, she has always been attracted to the visual arts. The duet 'Forgeries, Love and Other Matters' is a joint project by three artists: Meg Stuart, Benoît Lachambre and Hahn Rowe. Similarly to Meg Stuart, the Canadian choreographer and dancer Benoît Lachambre is interested in the relationship between improvisation, performance and dance. He founded his own company, 'par b.l.eux', in 1996. The American composer Hahn Rowe has worked with David Byrne and REM as well as with jazz legends John Zorn, Butch Morris and others.
