Tarek Halaby

The American-Palestinian performer Tarek Halaby was born in Riyadh and danced for various companies and choreographers in New York for three years before moving to Brussels to take a course at P.A.R.T.S. In the first BOUGE B in 2008 he performed a solo in which he told how he was struggling with his artistic and Palestinian identity. He is still occupied by these issues today. It has recently been his wish to make more room for improvisation. It was for this reason that he launched the 'Performing for the first time' series. Each of the performances in this series is a new piece of work, but it only becomes a performance when the audience gets to see it. Will you see Tarek Halaby dancing, singing or speaking? One thing is certain: you will see a talented performer at work, in search of his artistic self.
