A+ has been Belgium's leading architecture magazine for more than 30 years. Familiar and innovative. This is where architectural practices from various regions are brought face to face. A platform for pioneering projects and ideas. A+ is about architecture and everything associated with it. It is a fellow traveller in the ongoing story of dedonderdagen: a three-part publication complements and comments on the event, and the magazine itself is represented at deSingel on the three evenings. At dedonderdagen 11 this presence was limited to one of observation, and to a thorough exploration and examination of the building in accordance with a strict timetable, with here and there a short gathering, an incident.
For dedonderdagen 12, A+ analysed the spectacle of deSingel which commenced in 1968 and has been completed and added to in stages. Nameplates scattered throughout the building point out to the visitor the most singular scenes, unexpected turns and future productions in the architectural story of this arts centre.
On the closing evening the magazine gives its columnists the chance to speak. For the third part of this dedonderdagen they will write their own commentary on the building. In this way architectural criticism will claim its rightful place in the multidisciplinary programme of dedonderdagen.
