Adam Wiltzie is a composer and sound engineer, best known as the founder of the atmospheric classical ensemble Stars of the Lid, and currently a touring member of Sparklehorse. Christina Vantzou is an artist, illustrator and animator. Since 2003 she has been working on an audiovisual project called 'The Dead Texan'. Having settled in Brussels, they put out their first CD/DVD on the Kranky label in 2004, and gave a series of live performances in Europe in 2005 and 2006.
For dedonderdagen 13 'The Dead Texan' has put together an audiovisual performance with four video channels. The four video screens will immerse the spectator in an intimate atmosphere while the soundtrack is played live. The compositions by 'The Dead Texan' are often described as 'mini-symphonies': gentle piano melodies mixed with drones and sampled strings are combined with slowly moving dream-like sequences and fragile hand-drawn animation in a delicately layered setting.
