'Lichaampje, lichaampje aan de wand' van Jan Fabre
Next season marks Jan Fabre's tenth year as artist in residence at deSingel. As a run-up to this festive year it has already been arranged that an actor will read one of the artist's more exceptional plays. Fabre wrote Body, body on the wall in 1996. The play was inspired by the Dutch artist Rob Scholte, the French performance artist Orlan and the dancer and choreographer Wim Vandekeybus, who performed this solo piece at deSingel in 1997. The monologue embodies the relationship between a male dancer and a female photographer, a metaphor for the relationship between performer and audience.
