The city festival with artists from the city and stories of the city.
During Dear Antwerp, DE SINGEL will be swapping red velvet for the Antwerp streets. Together with artists from the city, we’ll be telling stories of the city, for people in the city. We’ll be presenting concerts, installations and performances at different locations.
Discover what’s going on in an Antwerp street during the large-scale marathon performance Familiestraat by Thomas Verstraeten on the former site of the BP lubricating oil factory. Or make the acquaintance of Collectif Faire-Part, our new in-house artist. In the Antwerp streetscape, they’ll be setting up a wooden replica of the plinth on which the statue of Leopold II stands in Brussels. During SOKL this will become a stage for new stories. Nadar Ensemble, also a brand-new in-house artist, will present a concert performance as a reflection on what progress means for a city. And during Take It To The Streets you will criss-cross Antwerp city centre via short artistic interventions at different locations. See you there!
