Radiant Nights #7
curated by Please Add Color
Four times a year, Radiant Nights is a space for creation and experimentation that eschews conventions.
For this seventh edition, DE SINGEL puts the curation in the hands of guest curator Kevin Kotahunyi, founder and driving force behind PLEASE ADD COLOR. Since 2019, Kotahunyi has been internationally active as a curator in the visual arts field. He focuses his curatorial vision firmly and without hesitation on the lack of diversity in the arts.
With the platform PLEASE ADD COLOR he supports Black makers by giving them visibility and a place where they can talk about their artistic expertise. In addition, as an opinion maker Kotahunyi himself builds up an international discourse about inclusion by challenging our national art institutions.
Now Kotahunyi is expanding his gaze for the first time with performance, dance and music. But always central will be the beauty of Black art, or the power of Black art. For DE SINGEL he is curating a weekend in which all the senses will be challenged. Alongside an exhibition with contemporary Black visual artists, you will also discover idiosyncratic voices in krump, funk, performance art and the echoing voices of multiple Black generations. This unique mix is supplemented by a take-over of the building with hand-made booths where you can meet designers and discover the versatility of Black culture and creativity.
Last but not least, we are offering a scarf that will be on sale exclusively during the weekend of Radiant Nights X PLEASE ADD COLOR. The design is cool but the scarf itself will be warm. Definitely worth paying a visit to DE SINGEL!
