Helena Basilova transforms Ryuichi Sakamoto's work into an immersive soundscape.
The Amsterdam-based pianist Helena Basilova is known for her passion for cutting-edge music genres. She recently recorded a brilliant album in Nils Frahm’s studio with interpretations of the work of Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952-2023), whose music floats between 80's synth, electro-pop and (neo) classical. From the 80's to the album just before his death, Sakamoto was known to the general public for his music for films such as The Last Emperorand The Revenant. During this concert in collaboration with 4DSOUND, Basilova takes Sakamoto's piano compositions to the next level. Together they create an immersive soundscape that promises an intense listening experience.
The Amsterdam-based studio 4DSOUND is a pioneer in spatial audio technology and immersive sound experiences. During their first residency at DE SINGEL, they will transform the Theatre Studio into a spatial sound bath in which two surprising live concerts will take place with Aart Strootman and Helena Basilova in the spotlight. For both nights, Nick Verstand and Wes Broersen will work in close collaboration with the artists to create the lighting design and respond to the spatial sound atmospheres.
