DE SINGEL not only presents the so-called iron repertoire, but also actively wants to co-write new chapters in the classical music canon. That’s why DE SINGEL is the co-commissioner of Wim Henderickx's brand new clarinet concerto Sutra. During this concert, the work will see its Belgian premiere. All the ingredients are there to make it an indispensable evening: the top Belgian clarinettist Annelien Van Wauwe – to whom Henderickx dedicated his composition – will be playing the solo part, the highly regarded Norddeutsche Rundfunk radio orchestra will be coming to perform the premiere and the leading international conductor Andrew Manze will be conducting his own orchestra. This creation will be followed by gorgeous programme work by Jean Sibelius and wonderful symphonic composition by Ludwig van Beethoven.
