Podium 19, Flanders’ new culture TV channel
Culture at home!
The Flemish Arts Institutions together started up a new TV channel: Podium 19 is a joint, virtual concert hall in which, as long as concert halls continue to feel the impact of coronavirus, new productions from the many Flemish culture houses will be shown to you. On the channel more than 240 - mostly new - productions will be broadcast from Flemish and Brussels-based culture houses, including deSingel. Every day, you can enjoy a broad and diverse offering from your living room of projects that have all been produced by Flemish cultural organisations.
Podium 19 has a versatile offering in store for you:
- 2 TV-premieres per evening, from Thursday (from 9 pm) to Sunday (from 5 pm) inclusive
- re-runs from Monday to Wednesday inclusive
The four ‘premiere’ days each have their own genre and discipline:
. Thursday from 9 pm: pop / rock
. Friday from 9 pm: classical
. Saturday from 9 pm: stage
. Sunday from 5 pm: kids / jazz / world / literature

Unique project
In many of our neighbouring countries, special measures are being taken to support the cultural sector. However the far-reaching collaboration between culture houses, existing TV channels and telecom operators, supported by the Flemish Government led by Prime Minister Jan Jambon, is unique. Thanks to Podium 19, the Flemish culture houses’ artistic operations are able to continue, the many artists and supporting teams can continue to work, and the public can once again enjoy high-quality productions, both in Belgium and beyond.
