duration
1h 10' The basis for 'Revelations' is 'Visions', a work in which the 13th-century poetess and mystic Hadewijch d'Anvers describes an ecstatic love relationship with the divine 'Other'.
This multimedia project involves a search for the power of the visionary imagination and ecstasy in a contemporary context. An individual stands opposite a chorus. The composer Wim Henderickx has written a new, wordless work in which resounds inspiration drawn from mediaeval and Renaissance music for female voices. The HERMES Ensemble and Jorrit Tamminga's electronics play an important part. And for these 'Revelations', the director Wouter Van Looy creates an immaterial installation around images by the video artist Kurt d'Haeseleer.
