A hauntingly beautiful performance blending storytelling, clowning, and dance
La noche de aparición(The night of the apparition) is a bewitching performance that combines stories, clowning and dance. The Mexican Désirée 0100 and the Columbian Lulu Muñoz - both choreographers and dancers - draw inspiration from Mexican folk stories and elements of horror from popular culture. Together they transport you through three intriguing legends: La procesión de los muertos, Los narcosatánicos and La llorona.
With a mix of playfulness and raw emotion, they explore themes such as loneliness, homesickness and balancing between two worlds - their country of birth and their new Belgian home. As queer performers, they recognise themselves in the monsters and outsiders in horror films, but in La noche de aparición they take ownership of those stories and rewrite their own role. The result? An energetic, moving and groundbreaking performance that celebrates and connects.
