Everything Must Go serves up a bitterly wicked cocktail of global catastrophe. Tagesspiegel
Forced Entertainment has been part of the British avant-garde for 40 years, and is visiting DE SINGEL for the first time. Their signature lies in breaking conventions, embracing lo-fi aesthetics, and reinventing theatre as a space for critical reflection. With Everything Must Go, the British collective concludes a trilogy centred on lip-syncing and AI voices.
Everything is a joke, yet nothing is funny. Or everything is funny, and nothing is still a joke. In Everything Must Go, the audience finds itself late at night in a bar that may not truly exist. A place somewhere between the heart of a city and a space deep underground, where drinks, memories, and unwelcome thoughts collide.
Emerging from a cacophony of voices is a hypnotic choreography of words and bodies. Stories and characters appear, vanish, and return in conversations that endlessly circle the same point. Beyond the bar, a world seems to haunt the edges: an economy that collapsed, cities that decayed, loves that failed, and opportunities that slipped away forever.
What unfolds is a whimsical theatrical stream of everyday language: simultaneously comedic, absurd, and furious.
