Write, listen and find your voice at Poetry Club with Emma Hessels.
Poetry Club is back! Every month, artists and participants come together for an evening of words, music and conversation.
This session is guided by singer-songwriter Emma Hessels. Her work explores themes of love, longing and vulnerability. Together, we’ll discover how music and language can help give shape to emotions and personal experiences.
Through conversations, listening sessions and short writing exercises, you’ll explore your own voice. After the break, there will be an opportunity to voluntarily share your work and reflect together on what a text or song can evoke.
Emma has performed at festivals such as Best Kept Secret and has supported artists including Cat Power and Mavis Staples. During Poetry Club, she invites you to experiment freely with words and music, without pressure or expectations.
How does the evening unfold?
17:00 - 18:30 | Part 1
Arrival and introductions, followed by an introduction to a song and its themes, conversation, and short writing exercises.
-Break-
19:00 - 20:00 | Part 2
An opportunity to voluntarily read or perform your work, followed by a group reflection and discussion.
