A double bill comprising two solos choreographed by Jan Martens. ‘BIS’ is a solo that he created in 2012 for the 65-year-old Dutch dancer Truus Bronkhorst. In the more recent ‘Ode to the attempt’ (2015) you see Martens himself at work.
Jan Martens studied at the Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg before completing his dance training at the Royal Flemish Conservatoire in Antwerp. Since then, he has taken international stages and audience’s hearts by storm. The beauty of human imperfection is given a prominent role in his work.
