Serge Aimé Coulibaly's C la Vie is a hopeful and energetic celebration of connection.
Serge Aimé Coulibaly is known for his powerful and engaged choreographies. His expressive work is driven by emotion but also encourages reflection. In his new creation C la vie,the Burkinese choreographer draws inspiration from African initiation rites. With nine performers on stage - which symbolises a public square where anything is possible - you are transported on a journey of initiation that marks the end of the old world. This performance challenges us without the traditional trials or heroes; the focus lies on the essence of togetherness. C la vieis hopeful, energetic and generous, and underscores the importance of connection – with music, others, reality, time, the planet and love. This piece shows the richness of togetherness as an antidote to a self-destructive modern world, and celebrates the multitude of possibilities of being together.
