Nicolas Kummert, who won the 2003 Django D'or Young Talent Award, will for this project be working with the guitarist Marco Locurcio, a student of Peter Hertmans. Nicolas Kummert draws an impressive sound from the tenor saxophone, while on soprano he is immediately reminiscent of John Coltrane. Marco Locurcio, in whose own work the echoes of rock music can be heard, withdraws into a fluid style that flirts with the work of Philip Catherine and Pat Metheny. The rhythm section has quite some class: Jacques Pili on bass and Eric Thielemans on drums. They provide the cohesion that quite plainly makes '4' a promising quartet.
