Waste Band is a virtual performance for one astronaut/salesperson, one musician and one Powerpoint. The spectators and performers sit together around a table onto which pictures are projected. The performance is based on the chance fact that both a Chinese ritual and scientific theories prove that the moon will crash down onto a beach full of frogs, and this at the precise time of the performance. This piece is inspired by the fears experienced by Sergei Krikalev on board the MIR space-station while waiting to be brought back to earth, and is about waiting, wishes and wasting time.
