A festival about music that plays with, gives voice to, and slows down time
Our notion of time has changed fundamentally over the past few decades. The world is speeding up, we fly through different time zones, and we can be contacted anytime, anywhere. Fortunately there is still music which plays with, voices and sometimes even slows down time. Unlike visual art, for example, time plays a major part in music. Music is time. Jazz pianist Vijay Iyer considers and gives voice to time as a spirit. In the meantime, ChampdAction and Marko Ciciliani mark the occasion with a mix of lectures and performances about the relationship between music, time and history. Another question immediately arises from this: how the way we envision the future is linked to our relationship with the past.
