Anyone familiar with Anouar Brahem's music thinks of conjuring sensual sounds, undulating melodies and poetic eloquence. Throughout his rich discography on the acclaimed ECM label, one can hear how Brahem fuses ancient Arabic music tradition with modern jazz. Each time, he places the age-old instrument in a different light. After a career of almost 40 years, Anouar has decided to return to his former repertoires for the first time. Together with the quartet formed in 2009 for the album The Astounding Eyes of Rita, in addition to some themes composed for this quartet, he also performs compositions from older albums such as Conte de l'Incroyable Amour, Madar, Thimar, Astrakan Café, ...
