The Nemø Ensemble connects repertoire with new works by young artists exploring the boundaries of genre and discipline. For them, art means coming together away from the daily grind, in performances such as ‘intensified contexts’, in which the audience immerses itself in the present. With Aart Strootman, they delve into minimal music and pioneers Steve Reich and Philip Glass, both of whom are celebrating anniversaries in the 26-27 season. This also provides an opportunity to highlight lesser-known voices, with works by Julius Eastman, Moondog, and Ann Southam, among others.
