We open our eyes... Nothing. Everything is a blur. There is no light. There is only me. And you. Someone is missing. A girl with long black hair and courageous eyes. If you encounter her, don’t greet her, don’t touch her. Observe.
In the performance Speaking Figures, Max Greyson and Saïd Gharbi surmount the nothingness of an empty, physical space and make an imaginary journey from the East to the West. They search for a common language by moving together in the dark and explore the difference between being invisible and feeling invisible, fired up by the power of music, movement and poetic text.
Speaking Figures is a theatrical dance and spoken word performance with live cello. Most of it takes place in the dark and the audience is asked to wear eye masks. The performance is a participatory, tactile experience, which means that the audience is explicitly invited to move and to speak.
